"And all the cupboards were bare..."  Sure, we all wish the current economic plunge were but a fairy tale.  It's very much reality for many trying to make ends meet.  30% more New Jerseyans are looking to donation services for basic needs now than at this time last year.

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey, the state's largest food bank, is running low on food in general--and may even begin rationing handouts if donations don't pick up before the end of the year.

Their new print ad stars NJ's go-to charity guy, rock legend Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen. And, in time for the upcoming food-centric holiday,  they are still running their annual turkey drives. Frozen turkeys can be dropped off at St. Francis' Cathedral parking lot on November 22 from 9AM-2PM. The Food Bank will also continue to accept donations that can be used towards purchasing foods for their everyday pantry as well.
