After falling behind 14-6 early, Metuchen was able to push past Bound Brook to take a 20-14 lead. A Crusader touchdown late in the second quarter put Bound Brook back on top 21-20 at halftime. Then in the third quarter the Bulldogs rallied off 14 unanswered points to take a 34-21 lead and never looked back. In the end Metuchen was able to hold off the Crusaders of Bound Brook and advance with a 40-27 victory.
The Bulldogs will face Asbury Park for NJSIAA Central Group 1 Championship. Asbury Park defeated Middlesex 50-6 in the other semifinal game.
