The early social history of this area never ceases to amaze me.

Such an interesting article, and interesting people involved!

Edward Busch, who was also a volunteer firefighter with Eagle Hook & Ladder, was killed in the line of duty in 1908...

Silzer, as we know, was Governor of NJ, and is rumored to have had connections to the mobster Dutch Schultz...

Reverend Mason at one point ran to be the Prohibition Party's candidate for US President, and wrote an early history of Metuchen. On a less savory note, he is also know to have presided at at least one Klan funeral here in Metuchen.
