As sad as it is to see so many businesses leaving town, it is encouraging when one such business doesn't leave much of a hole to fill. Megumi, the Chinese-Japanese restaurant on Center Street (which made a mean Black Pepper chicken, among other things) has disappeared into that great Business Cloud in the Sky. However, instead of becoming a boarded-up eyesore, it has turned its busy kitchen into Jade Garden II (they make a mean Dragon Roll but I hope they find Megumi's chicken recipe, too!)
It's nice to know that some voids are not hard to fill. If only it was that easy to resolve some of our other downtown vacancies...

I wouldn't nkow - we eat at Jade Dynasty on Amboy Ave in Edison, across from Stewart's.
are you guys kidding me? Jade Garden is gross. I still smell from miso soup and wanna be hibachi chicken. I'd rather see a borded up store than them ever cook more of that nasty food.
Jade Dynasty is on Amboy Ave. Jade Garden "I" is on Inman Avenue, also in Edison.
Is Jade Garden II affiliated with Jade Garden on Amboy Ave. in Edison?
www.meguminj.com is the website listed on the "new" place's menu--I just tried it and see that it doesn't go anywhere.
Huh?
www,meguminj.com doesn't take you anywhere
Check out the website for the new restaurant--www.meguminj.com; I'm not so sure its a "new" place.
Got a brochure for another new chinese restaurant on Central - Mia's Garden. So that makes four in town. But we go to Jade Dynasty in Edison the most.
Argh! I was hankering for Megumi's Coconut Chicken (or "Coconuts Chicken" as they had it on the menu). It was like tom kah gai on a plate -- heavenly!
Sometimes restaurants change their names for tax purposes.
