Metuchen Resident Highlighted at Kids Comic-con this weekend

Metuchen resident Janna Morishima is the director of Diamond Kids Group, the children's book division of international graphic novel distributor Diamond Book Distributors.  On Saturday, April 25 she'll be holding a workshop at 1:00PM called "Careers in Comics!", aimed at helping kids understand the wide variety of jobs in comics publishing.  The panelists "will share how they got started in their careers, how their jobs have changed over time, what they do in their work currently, and tips for young people interested in breaking into comics. They'll talk about what they love about working in comics -- and maybe even a few things they don't love! There will be plenty of time for Q&A with the audience."

The workshop will take place at "Kids Comic-con" a day-long celebration of comics for kids held at Bronx Community College.  The event will feature readings, signings, and workshops by professional comics writers, illustrators, and editors from a wide variety of publishers (including Marvel, DC Comics, Archie, Mad Magazine, Nickelodeon, Scholastic, and more!)

Attendance is free for kids and $5 for adults.
