JUNEBUG BEGINS THIS FRIDAY! There's something for everyone in the family!

Get your children involved in these  ACTIVITIES FOR ALL, INCLUDING THE KIDS.

EVERY JUNEBUG EVENING BETWEEN 8:00 - 8:30 Meet & Greet the artists downtown

 

June 5:   

Junebug Shakers:  Mallory Leonard, a Kean University Art Education student, will lead visitors in creating Junebug Shakers.  Mallory is bringing the supplies, but you should bring your imagination to create mischievous, noise-making little Junebugs.   

Location:  Borough Hall (500 Main St.) 6:00 - 9:00 pm

 

Chalk Walk:  Make your mark on Metuchen by creating interesting artwork with chalk.

Location:  Forum Theatre (314 Main St.) 6:00 - 9:00 pm

 

Mural Painting:  Join local artist, teacher and founder of Creative Images, Patricia Woods, in creating a mural.

Location:  Outside of Creative Images (1 Pennsylvania Ave.) 7:30 - 8:30 pm

June 12 

Tour Bus Visit to Artists' Open Studios: The bus will leave at 7pm and 8:30 pm from the corner of New and Pearl streets (outside of Novita)

 

Balloon Art:  Wanda Lei, artist and owner of Little Fish Art Studio, with the help of some of her students, will lead visitors in creating animals and other interesting items with vibrant colored balloons.  What kind of a creation will you make?

June 19:

Paper Hat Workshop:  Create one-of-a-kind paper hats under the direction of Mickey Waring of Westerhoff School of Music and Art.  While Mickey will have plenty of supplies, feel free to bring along your own personal treasures to add to the mix.  After the workshop the uniquely created masterpieces will be paraded down Main St.  All those interested in joining the parade should gather on the front steps of Boro Hall at 8:30.

Junebug Fun:  Mickey Waring of the Westerhoff School of Music & Art will host this workshop and help you create your own Junebug.

Location:  Westerhoff School of Music & Art (5 Calvin Pl.) 7:15 - 8:30 pm.

BUT DON'T BE MISLED....ALL OF THE ACTIVITIES ARE FOR EVERYONE!!!! THESE ARE NOT JUST "KIDS' ACTIVITIES"...THE WHOLE SPIRIT OF JUNEBUG IS TO PROCLAIM THE ARTIST IN EVERYONE...SO EVERYONE... ADULTS AND CHILDREN...ARE MOST WELCOME TO ENGAGE IN EVERY ACTIVITY JUNEBUG HAS TO OFFER, FROM ENJOYING MUSIC, PERFORMANCE AND SPOKEN WORD, TO DELIGHTING IN THE VISUAL ART AND CONVERSING WITH THE ARTISTS, TO MAKING ART YOURSELF.

THE SPIRIT OF JUNEBUG IS TO REMIND US JUST HOW CREATIVE WE ALL ARE AND HOW WONDERFUL THAT IS!

No charge! All of the events are free!!!!!! How great is this festival??
