Bunting.jpegThe bunting  currently  hanging on Borough Hall is in honor of Bob Drake, a retired police sergeant who passed away last week. He served the department for 25 years and retired  25 years ago.

AGE: 79 METUCHEN
Robert M. Drake, 79, of Metuchen, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at JFK Hospital, Edison. Born May 10, 1930 in Perth Amboy, he resided in Metuchen for the last 58 years, prior to that Edison. He was a sergeant with the Metuchen Police Department for 25 years, retiring 25 years ago. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Robert also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.


Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Patricia Oliver Drake of Metuchen; two daughters, Deborah Capuano of Rockaway, and Sandra Masters of Metuchen; and a son, Robert O. Drake of Warren Center, Pa. He is survived by nine grandchildren.
