The Metuchen Police Department and the Metuchen Auxiliary Police are looking for Metuchen residents who are interested in becoming volunteer police officers for the borough.  No prior training is necessary; training will be provided.

The auxiliary police, consisting of both men and women, work with the police department to reduce hazards, assist police officers with patrols of the entire borough, assist in emergency or disastrous situations, conduct traffic control, crowd control and road closures, provide extra patrols at schools and places of worship, assist in the first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and provide services deemed necessary by Police Chief James Keane.
