On Tuesday, October 13th, representatives of the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce will be joined by Metuchen Mayor Thomas Vahalla for an official ribbon cutting ceremony welcoming Anastasios and Dimitri Aloupis, the proprietors of Buon Appetito. Join us at 6:00 pm as we cut the ribbon and sample some of their menu items.
Anastasios and Dimitri first learned that the former Roberto's Pizzeria was for sale from a friend whose restaurant supply service told them of the opportunity. After visiting Metuchen several times to get a feel for the town, Dimitri noted, "We just have to be a part of this community, with it's small town atmosphere and friendly residents. I have been around restaurants since I was 10 years old and my father (Anastasios) has over 30 years in the restaurant industry. Metuchen is a perfect fit for us."
Six months ago the father and son team purchased the business and the transformation began, with a face-lift to the façade of the building and a redesign of the interior. While the physical changes to the building were taking place, changes to their menu were also being planned. Buon Appetito offers a varied menu, including numerous gourmet and specialty pizzas, hot and cold subs, wraps, salads, calzones and strombolis. Their traditional pasta dishes, Italian entrees, gyros, and seafood dishes, round out the menu to satisfy the desires of even the most hard to please patrons......and what would an Italian restaurant be without Italian ice and gelato?
Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. For your convenience they offer free delivery service and accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Guests dining in are invited to bring their own bottles.
