My neighbor Rudy is almost 90, partially blind but takes walks every day to keep up his stamina. He served in Okinawa and was at Nagasaki after the bomb dropped, suffering serious physical and emotinoal problems after that. The devastation he saw changed his mind about warfare but he never lessened his commitment to keeping this country safe. Here's to Rudy, a man with ideals and morals, a pacifist in a soldier's body, who saw the bad and decided to spend the rest of his life focusing on the beautiful.
