Artist renditions of Gramercy Square at Metuchen and the two existing homes it will replace

On December 29th at noon, a project that will transform a stretch of Amboy Avenue begins when borough officials and reps from Amboy Holdings LLC hold an official ground breaking ceremony to announce the coming of Gramercy Square at Metuchen.

In development for some time, the twelve unique one-family residences will be laid out in three buildings of four units - four individual floor plans ranging from 2500 to 3500 square feet. Each home will have three bedrooms, two car garages, hardwood floors, imported tile, high efficiency appliances, and more.  Decorative elements within the complex have been designed to resemble the quaint elements residents will see throughout the rest of town.  A courtyard and social area will help to make the community complete.

Designed by Netta Architects, developers hope that Gramercy Square at Metuchen will combine all of the aspects that make Metuchen such a desirable place to live.

Guess I should have said to the townhouses being built, lol. One of the houses is especially nice.

I prefer the 3 houses being knocked down.

This Amboy Ave. resident rejoices at beauty replacing an eyesore...and the infusion of new residents with potential for lively enthusiasm and creative involvement in our wonderful town. Thanks to those who care enough about Metuchen to have worked to make this happen. New Life...pushing through the December snows!

Housing for 12 more wealthy families instead of a park that might have been enjoyed by many more. This developer greed with politician approval goes back to the Irongate condo's destroying Hansen Hill in the early 1980's- the best sleigh-riding area ever in Metuchen. Money and greed increase ratables AND taxes, and traffic. Metuchen hasn't been the Brainy Borough in decades. How about more facilities for SENIORS- THOSE WHO BUILT THE TOWN- and fewer Taj Mahals for wealthy Johnny-Come-Latelies.
