St. Luke's and Forum HELP! Haiti with Relief Concert

british invasion poster.jpgSt. Luke's Church is sponsoring an amazing benefit concert at the Forum by The British Invasion Tribute to benefit Haiti on Saturday, Feb.27th.   Several Metuchen restaurants will be offering pre-concert discounts on dinner to ticket holders. Read on for information about the band and its members.

The outreach for Haiti will be ongoing at St. Luke's, and a series of benefits are being planned. Already a group of local artists have responded to a call to donate work for an "Arts for Haiti" event.  The details of that will be advertised in a few months.  Any other artists who would be interested in getting involved in that can contact

Robert Murdock on Bass Guitar, Lead & Backing Vocals

Lee Scott Howard on Electric & Acoustic Guitars, Lead & Backing Vocals

Jeff Alai on Drums & Percussion, Lead & Backing Vocals

Mick Seeley on Keyboards & Rhythm Guitars, Lead & Backing Vocals

"THE British Invasion Tribute" with authentic vintage clothing and musical arrangements, takes audiences on a nostalgic trip back in time, as if they were attending a concert from a bygone era. Unlike most tributes featuring just one band, this unique act spans the ENTIRE era, and is actually three shows in one! The first show includes songs by iconic British groups such as The Zombies, Dave Clark Five, The Rolling Stones, The Hollies, Herman's Hermits, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Manfred Mann and many more. The American Response follows, with music by such legendary artists as The Monkees, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, The Mamas and The Papas, The Turtles, Paul Revere and The Raiders, to name just a few. This journey through the 1960s concludes with an extraordinary note-for-note rendition of Side B of The Beatles' Abbey Road you definitely won't want to miss. See why "THE British Invasion Tribute" has quickly become one the most sought after entertainment experiences!

"THE British Invasion Tribute" performs at theme parks, festivals, community events, concerts, corporate & private events, and theatres...most recently performing at The Mohegan Sun Casino to a standing room only crowd. The Band has many years of professional experience, on and off the stage, sharing the stage with the likes of: Herman's Hermits, The Turtles, The Rascals, Jon Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Leon Russell, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Huey Lewis and the News, Peter Frampton, John Eddie, Glen Burtnik (Styx), John Cafferty & Beaver Brown, and Gary U.S. Bonds. The group has worked with notable producers 'Plinky' Giglio (Glen Burtnick/Styx), David Prater (Firehouse), Franke Previte (Dirty Dancing Movie Soundtrack) and John Rollo (The Kinks, Paul Young). Keyboardist Mick Seeley was a member of Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, Dan Hartman and sang backups on Bon Jovi's first hit, Runaway.

A group of about 20 of us from St. Luke's went down to see them recently in an old movie theater in Phonexville, PA. We all had a great time. We came back and thought it would be an excellent idea to see this group perform at the Forum and raise some money for Haiti at the same time. If you are a Baby Boomer or just want to re-live the 60's, this is the concert for you!

FYI: The band members are all local guys. My husband (far left) and I live in Metuchen. The other members are all Middlesex County, so you are certainly supporting local artists in addition to donating to a worthy cause!

A fresh supply of tickets are available at The Raconteur and What's the Scoop.
