Our Facebook Friends Suggest . . . A Raised Court in Olmezer Park?

On our Facebook page, we got the following suggestion:

Katy Smith Hreha I think we need a racquetball or paddleball court in Metuchen--maybe at Olmeizer park. What do you think? Wouldn't that be nice? Nobody has a raised court in the area--I think we'd really stand out.

What do you think? A raised court is something that the town could use. What would it cost? Who would use it? How would usage be administered? If you're a builder, a town councilperson, or a "playground consultant," we want to hear from you ! How does an idea become a reality around here?

How about some green space (as in grass)? It's becoming a concrete jungle around here (I've lived here since 1980, so I've seen green disappear in stages). A small park, some tables and benches---no "attractions" just some green space.

Why does every bit of open space need to be filled with some kind of equipment or structure? We have precious few public green spaces in this small town as it is.

I'd love to see Olmezer get bathrooms - it is tough to be there for as long as we'd like with young kids.

Raised court??? please that's so 1970's. We can't even mantain the parks we have now. If you did have the money or donations I would model a playground after the one in woodbridge with the large wood structures. We need some more modern playground equiptment well before a handball court. Also a spraygrounds at the town pool would be a nice investment.

That would be very cool! I miss raquetball/handball courts.
