Update on Route 27 Bridge Opening + Traffic Patterns Starting TONIGHT

Project:   Route 27 Section 6L Conrail Port Reading Branch Bridge

 Route/Direction/MP:   Route 27 / NB & SB / MP 22.89 to 23.07

 Municipality/County:  Metuchen Borough / Middlesex County

 Nature of Work:  Re-open Route 27 Bridge over the Conrail Port Reading Branch.

 Anticipated Traffic Impacts: 

The Route 27 Bridge will be re-opened to traffic on 9/17/2010 with one lane open in each direction and one sidewalk will be opened for pedestrian traffic.  The bridge will be opened in the late afternoon or evening.

 The bridge will be completely opened in the final/permanent configuration on or about 9/24/2010.

The final configuration will provide one lane in each direction, shoulders and sidewalks. 

Description of New Traffic Pattern:

The bridge will be opened with one in each direction and one sidewalk open for pedestrian traffic on 9/17/2010.

The final configuration will be implemented on or about 9/24/2010.

Proposed Start Date of New Traffic Pattern:

Friday September 17, 2010 - sometime in the afternoon or evening (one lane in each direction and one sidewalk)

On or about Friday, September 24, 2010 - (completely opened in the final configuration)
