Teen Advisory Board Announces Halloween and Cooking Events

The Teen Advisory Board of the Metuchen Public Library announces the following events at the Library, 480 Middlesex Avenue:

On Sunday, October 31 at 2 PM, there will be a Halloween film screening of The Corpse Bride. When a shy groom inadvertently practices his wedding vows in the presence of a deceased young woman, she rises from the grave assuming he has married her.  Tim Burton's film is a charming comedy with an all-star cast and a few good songs along the way.  The stop-motion animated film is rated PG for "some scary scenes." This program is open to the public: adults, teens, and pre-teens.  Refreshments and Halloween treats are provided by the Friends of the Metuchen Library.  Admission is free, but please bring a can or box of non-perishable food for the M.C.F.O.O.D.S. emergency kitchen.
On Thursday, November 4 from 1 PM until 2:30 PM, Metuchen teens in grades 6-12 are invited to attend Baking Bread with Mrs. B. Learn to make a delicious loaf of bread from scratch with fresh ingredients.  You'll leave with your braided loaf to bake as soon as you get home and with a recipe so that you can continue baking bread throughout the year.  This program takes place on the Thursday of the NJEA Convention when the Metuchen Schools are closed. This program is free and paid for by The Friends of the Metuchen Library. Registration is required for this class.  Call 732.632.8526 or email the Young Adult Librarian at KLiss@Lmxac.org.
