The Metuchen Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Mr. Vincent Caputo as the Superintendent of the 2,100 student public school district at the December 6 public meeting. As the successor to a long term superintendent, Mr. Caputo stated, "Mrs. Sinatra has provided outstanding leadership for the past eleven years. The Metuchen Public Schools will continue to provide educational opportunities for every student. Our children's success - socially, emotionally, and academically - is my top priority."

He began his career in education as a high school science teacher in the Secaucus Public School District where he also coached basketball and softball. He was later appointed Supervisor of Math and Science in the Cranford Public Schools before becoming an Assistant Principal.
