Fifth Graders "Jump Rope for Heart" at Edgar February 16th

From Edgar Middle School:

On Friday, February 03, 2012 Edgar Middle School joined together to promote heart health by "wearing red".   February is designated as Heart Disease and Stroke Awareness Month.

In preparation for "Wear Red Day",  Melanie Wansor's  5th grade health classes learned about heart disease and ways to reduce  risk.  The students created posters which were displayed throughout the school.    Fifth grade students also made public service announcements each day promoting heart health and the "fact of the day" was displayed on the large screen monitors in the hallway and cafeteria.

Fifth grade students will continue to promote heart health with Jump Rope for Heart.  The event will take place on Thursday, February 16th and all 5th grade students will be participating.  All proceeds go to the American Heart Association and the students are so excited about participating in the worthwhile event!
