Boy Scouting's highest rank of Eagle Scout was awarded to four scouts from Troop 17 of Metuchen/Edison on March 24, 2012.

Brian Donovan, Robert Facchini, Vincent Saulys, and Alexei Teitler each completed the requirements to attain the top rank of the Boy Scouts of America.

An Eagle Scout must have completed at least 21 merit badges and organized a service project that benefits his church, community, or school.

Brian Donovan's project included erecting a lighted sign at St. James Episcopal Church in Edison. Robert Facchini constructed a butterfly garden at Edgar Middle School in Metuchen. Vincent Saulys installed landscaping at Saint Joseph High School and Alexei Teitler organized a benefit concert for Toys for Tots.

Mayor Antonia Ricigliano of Edison and Middlesex County Freeholder, Charles Tomaro were honored speakers at the event and presented the Scouts with proclamations congratulating them on their achievements. All four boys will be attending college in the fall.
