Cupcake Decorating Class & SAT Prep at Library November 8

On Thursday November 8, when the Metuchen Schools are closed, there will be a Cupcake Decorating Class at the Metuchen Public Library, 480 Middlesex Avenue, for Metuchen residents in grades 6-12. In this hands-on workshop, participants will make icing and learn to use bags and tips to decorate cupcakes like a professional baker. Make and take home delicious samples!  Everyone will leave with recipes for cupcakes and icing.  The workshop is free and paid for by the Friends of the Metuchen Library. Registration is limited because of space.  To sign up, call the Library at 732.632.8526 or write the Young Adult Librarian at KLiss@Lmxac.org.

Also, Kaplan Test Prep will offer a free SAT/ACT Combo Practice Test at 12:30 PM at the Metuchen Public Library, 480 Middlesex Avenue. The 3.5 hour practice exam helps students decide which test is right for them. Students will receive scores and feedback via email that compares their performance on each of the analogous test sections of the two exams---for example, SAT math section vs. ACT math section. This is a perfect opportunity to experience both tests now that most colleges will accept either exam for admissions.

To sign up for the practice test, please write Young Adult Librarian Kathy Liss at KLiss@Lmxac.org or call the Library on 732.632.8526. Space is limited. At this time, the free test is open to Metuchen residents only in grades 10, 11 and 12, but registration will open to interested others, one week before the scheduled date of the practice exam.
