Bike-Walk Metuchen Quarterly Meeting
Tonight, 4/30 at 7:00pm
Old Franklin School (491 Middlesex Avenue), Metuchen, New Jersey 08840

Dave Nelson from Project for Public Spaces will be talking about creating a sense of "place" and the ways in which improving walking and biking infrastructure can help foster more sustainable and vibrant communities.

We will also be joined by Tom Brown from from Nelson\Nygaard. Tom will discuss the Parking Management Plan in development for the Borough and how non-motorized mobility helps to reduce parking demand by expanding the modes of accessing the downtown.

Tom and BWM would like to hear your thoughts and questions and here are some questions that might help with the conversation:

• Are there any streets that are especially good candidates for adding traffic-calming and/ or bike facilities, better ped crossings, etc.?

• Any streets or intersections that are in particular need of safety improvements?

• How would you rate the overall sidewalk network, within and surrounding downtown/ the train station area?

• Any suggestions for better-connecting downtown Metuchen to local or regional bike networks

• Are downtown bike parking capacities sufficient, well-located to support functional bike trips?

• Have you noticed progress toward ADA-compliance in downtown sidewalk networks?
