The students, parents and faculty of Campbell Elementary School in Metuchen joined together to raise $800 for the 12th Annual Michelle Offsie Memorial Walk to Cure Breast Cancer.  The event took place on June 2nd at the Community Campus (JCC/YMCA) located at 1775 Oaktree Road in Edison.

The $800 Campbell Elementary School raised came from the sale of $1.00 pink ribbons which were displayed on a prominent wall at the school as well as individual donations.  A gift basket of high end beauty products was raffled off to the school staff as well.

Campbell Elementary School was the highest fundraiser in the district.  As a result of their efforts, the City of Hope is donating a Google Chrome Book to the school as a "thank you" for all of their support.

The Metuchen school district's team participated in the walk for the first time this year.  Those who were unable to walk were encouraged to make a donation in honor of the team.  The Campbell Elementary School team leaders were Susan Lass and Hope Serratelli.
The walk began 11 years ago when 13 year old Janna Zuckerman, founded the event to memorialize Michelle Offsie, a former Edison Township resident who died of breast cancer at a young age.  Since then, The Metuchen/Edison community has come together to raise more than $1,000,000 to help fund  the breast cancer research, treatment and awareness programs of the City of Hope.
