Unfortuantely, due to the inclement weather, the Chamber of Commerce has announced that only INSIDE events will go on as scheduled tonight for Junebug Arts Festival. The unveiling of the Junebug sculpture and official opening ceremonies will take place next week. Here's The official information:

Junebug Opening Night Weather Update

Tropical Storm Andrea is heading our way! Unfortunately our outdoor Junebug ArtFest event doesn't stand a chance against the wind gusts and driving rain predicted for tomorrow night during our opening events.

Though our events have always been "rain or shine" due to safety concerns, we have made the decision along with the Borough of Metuchen Emergency Management Coordinator that all outdoor activities including our entertainment, interactives, street-side artists and sculpture unveiling on June 7th will be postponed.  There will be NO outdoor events on June 7th. We will be rescheduling your favorite performances throughout the remaining 3 weeks of Junebug at "to be announced" locations and times!

So when will we see the Junebug sculpture?

We are pleased to share that the official opening ceremony and unveiling of the 2013 Junebug sculpture will take place next week, on Friday, June 14th at 7:00 pm in front of Metuchen Savings Bank (442 Main Street). We look forward to seeing this year's sculptor, Linda Vonderschmidt-LaStella, reveal her creation to the community of Metuchen!

The following INDOOR activities will still take place on June 7th:

  • "CONTINUUM 2013" Art Opening: 6:00 - 8:00 pm, VAM Art Gallery, 15 Station Place, Metuchen. "VAM Art, Inc. is pleased to invite you to their fifth international contemporary Art exhibition titled CONTINUUM 2013. This mixed media art exhibition brings together eight outstanding artists from USA, Canada, and Japan. All of the international artists have their own personal record of awards, honors, and global exhibition history in major juried shows and art events."
  • Metuchen High School Art Exhibit - Final Viewing: 6:00 - 9:30 pm, Borough Hall Annex, 500 Main Street at Rt. 27.
  • Scott Gallagher High School Performances: 6:00 pm, Borough Improvement League (BIL), 491 Middlesex Avenue (Rt. 27). "High School performances with unforgettable, undeniable, musical awesomeness for your little one."
  • OPEN MIC with Danny Adlerman: 6:00 -10:00 pm, To Be Continued Bookstore, 431 Main Street, Metuchen.

How can we find out about rescheduled performances?

We have programs printed for each night of Junebug and an insert with all changes in performers will be included for each week of the event. You can also stay tuned to the Metuchen Chamber website and Facebook page as well as the Junebug ArtFest pages which can be found here: or or
