Red Ribbon Week Starts October 23rd

The Metuchen Municipal Alliance and Satori Academy are proud to join teens, parents, teachers, and other citizens across America in celebrating Red Ribbon Week 2013 (October 23-31), the oldest and largest drug prevention observation in the nation.

The first Nationwide Red Ribbon Campaign in 1985 was organized in response to the murder of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena, parents and youth in communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction caused by drugs in America.

Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities. The campaign has reaches millions of U.S. children and families.

Pick up a free "Celebrate Drug Free" Red Ribbon decal at The Metuchen Police Records Department or Metuchen Recreation (M-F 9:00am -4:00pm), at the Metuchen Library or at Satori Academy's Tano Mall location (1199 Amboy Avenue Edison, NJ).
