From Metuchen Bulldogs Football:

Sept 23rd Action on the field:

Another fine day on the gridiron for the Metuchen Bulldogs! It all began with the flag team and there battle with Manville. Once again Coach Ryan's team received contributions from a number of different players. The "Young" Bulldogs overcame another hostile environment and scored 4 touchdowns and were able to stymie Manville with lockdown defense. Sebastian Leardi scored his first touchdown of the year on a nifty run Congrats Sebastian and Awesome Jobs Boys!

The JR. Midget team was the middle game on the slate. Coach Hronich's bunch competed hard all day but eventual fell to a very tough St. Barts team. Lucas Revano played a stellar defensive game. His outstanding tackling and all out assault on the ball carriers of St. Barts surely left an indelible impression. On offense, Jack Hogerty sparkled and was the Offensive Player of the Game.

In the finale the Mighty Mites also took on St. Barts and once again our 7, 8 & 9 year olds battled a team comprised of all 8 and 9 year olds. Ben Michaliszyn scored on a beautiful tigh end reverse early in the game and the offense sparkled behind the direction of quarterback Dante Regan and the blocking of Greg Henson and Francis Cheche. Defensively the hard hitting of Will Kwiatkowski and Drew Delabar lead a great team effort.

Awesome performance boys keep working hard!

And congratulations to our Cheerleaders on the great performances all day--and for those who attended the Mighty Mite game we were able to witness an impressive Halftime Show. Great Job Ladies!

Sept 29th Action on the field:

On Sunday our flag team once again went on the road in a test of will and grit. The "young" Bulldogs played a solid game defensively led by flag machine Kyle Johnston. Offensively the boys were led once again by Evan Toth, as he scored on a 48 yard scamper, taking it to the house thanks to a great block by Ben Michaliszyn. Don't forget the Flag Team makes it much anticipated homecoming this Sunday--get there early to see all the action.

The Mighty Mites traveled to Keansburg in an early morning contest. The boys battled hard all day long. The defensive effort was led this week by Greg Henson and AJ Perillo. On offense the Mites got great efforts from Leopold Dorilas and Stephen Michaliszyn. And" Mr. Versatile" Patrick Miller provided worthy of his nickname playing several different positions all while providing a boost to his team. Great job boys!

The JR. Midgets exploded for 26 points in a their first victory of the season. The Bulldogs jumped out early, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter. Quarterback Will Hronich scored two touchdowns while teammates Lucas Revano and Jaden Rojas both chipped in with scores of their own. Also starring on offense was Chris Ahumada. Lucas Revano also received the Defensive Player of the Week for the JR. Midgets this week  Congratulations and keep it going!
