Graham Lustig Discusses A Jazzy Nutcracker at To Be Continued November 25th

Graham Lustig, Artistic Director of New Brunswick's Lustig Dance Theatre (LDT), will offer a sneak peek of his brand-new production of  "A Jazzy Nutcracker" on Monday, November 25 at 6:00 pm at To Be Continued bookstore in Metuchen. This event is free and everyone is welcome! Mr. Lustig will share his vision and inspiration for the production and professional company members will perform a few excerpts.

A Jazzy Nutcracker will premiere on December 14, 2013 at the Monroe Township Performing Arts Center. With an original score inspired by familiar melodies, a live jazz band, wonderfully colorful sets and costumes, and the critically-acclaimed Lustig Dance Theatre professional dancers with 48 local dance students, A Jazzy Nutcracker brings new energy and verve to the holiday classic.

Lustig established LDT in 2010 and has since produced several critically-acclaimed dance theatre pieces, most notably PulcinellaLuna Mexicana, and last season's Jangala inspired by Kipling's "The Jungle Book".  Says Lustig, "Launching a new work of this scale is important for another reason; the weaving together of an organization's Board, volunteers, staff, dancers, students, designers, and musicians in one common endeavor. It is a valuable educational vehicle that creates opportunities for young dancers to take to the stage alongside company dancers, perform to live accompaniment, and to experience being part of a grand professional production. With A Jazzy Nutcracker, I plan to create a fun-filled ballet, brimming with humor and playfulness, which provides NJ patrons with a fresh, alternative entertainment option that embraces the joy of live music."

Come hear more from Lustig at To Be Continued on the 25th . To Be Continued is located at 431 Main Street in Metuchen. For more information about "A Jazzy Nutcracker", visit
