On Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 7 p.m., the Metuchen Municipal Alliance will host another evening in its Town Talks series at the Metuchen High School, 400 Grove Avenue.   A panel of professionals (advocacy leaders, counselors, police officers) who work with substance abuse issues will provide an opportunity for parents and youths to learn important information and to speak openly about their concerns in a supportive environment. The evening will focus on youth issues and ways for teens to keep safe in substance abuse environments, including an understanding of the 911 Good Samaritan Law (its implications concerning underage drinking and illegal drug use here in New Jersey, as well as away at college) and an introduction to the Alliance's Safe Homes project.  For more information about the event, contact Rev. Mark McCreary or Michael Scheller at, or 732-549-0447. Doors open at 6 p.m. for networking; the program begins promptly at 7 p.m.
