Last night the Borough Council overturned the Board of Education's decision to maintain their elections in April (only Councilwoman Dorothy Rasmussen voted no, calling for additional discussion on the issue). They will now be held in November, saving the borough $17K, and making the "school children safer," according to Mayor Vahalla, since the election will take place when school is not in session. The councilpeople all claimed that it would also increase the amount of people who vote in the school election.
All of that remains to be seen, the extensive opposition in town believes. Over 30 citizens attended the Council meeting to make their opinions known to the Council.
