The Association honors 9 winners annually (3 high school students)  to represent the many students across the State who value the joy of reading for pleasure and who share their enthusiasm for reading with others. Kelsee was nominated by the Metuchen Public Library for her work with the Young Adult Department.

For five summers, Ms. Young has volunteered as a mentor, helping 1st and 2nd graders practice reading and listening skills in the Library's Book Friends program. In November 2013, Kelsee was one of 50 students from across four states selected to take part in the Young Adult Feedback Session at the American Library Association's Midwinter Meeting in Philadelphia, where they helped to choose the ALA's list of Best Fiction for Young Adultsfor this year.
