On Saturday January 24, 2015 from 1 pm until 2:30 pm, the Metuchen Public Library (480 Middlesex Avenue) will host Speak Up! Public Speaking Fun, a free workshop for Metuchen residents in grades 8-12. Have you ever felt shaky doing a presentation? Terrified of a job interview? Do you want to hone your skills for college? Then this class is for you. Through games, fun activities and short exercises, you will increase your confidence and your ability to speak in front of an audience. You will receive gentle yet constructive feedback and tips on how to refine your public speaking expertise. This workshop is led by Catherine LaMoreaux, a teacher with years of experience teaching public speaking and theatre in high school. Speak Up! will be an enjoyable, educational, practical class for teens that will change how you look at making presentations. Space is limited; write KLiss@Lmxac.org to sign up.
