THE TRUE COST to be screened by Marafiki at Library October 4

Marafiki Fair Trade is proud to present The True Cost - a feature length documentary film that explores the impact of fashion on people and the planet. It's a story about clothing, the people who make them, and the impact the industry is having on our world. The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically. The True Cost is a groundbreaking documentary film that pulls back the curtain on the untold story and asks us to consider, who really pays the price for our clothing?

Filmed in countries all over the world, from the brightest runways to the darkest slums, and featuring interviews with the world's leading influencers including Stella McCartney, Livia Firth and Vandana Shiva, The True Cost is an unprecedented project that invites us on an eye opening journey around the world and into the lives of the many people and places behind our clothes.  If you are interested in fashion, social justice and/or the environment, this film is for you.

The movie will be screened at the Metuchen Public Library on Sunday October 4, 2015 at 2pm.  The Library is located at 480 Middlesex Avenue, Metuchen, NJ.  Tickets are limited and available at Marafiki Fair Trade, 20 New Street, Metuchen, NJ. The suggested donation is $3 per ticket or 2 for $5, because you should really bring a friend!
