Metuchen's Lego Wizards Team will be competing in the upcoming regional First Lego League (FLL) tournament. This tournament, with over 29,000 competing teams from 80 countries, has its Qualifying Event scheduled to take place in West Windsor/Plainsboro in November 2015.

The Lego Wizard members' ages range between 9 to 11 and they are: Suhani Anand (Grant School - South Plainfield ); Moksha Patel (Grant School - South Plainfield); Brandon Li (Metuchen Christian Academy - Metuchen); Mihir Chanduka (Woodbrook School - Edison); Ricard Halvorson (Edgar Middle School - Metuchen) and Pratyush Jha (Edgar Middle School - Metuchen). The team is being coached by Devarshi Mistry from South Plainfield.

The FLL is sponsored by LEGO, 3M, National Instruments and Rockwell Automation. This year's theme is Trash Trek Challenge: from collection to sorting, to smart production and reuse, there is more to your trash than meets the eye! The Challenge has three parts: the Robot Game, the Project, and the FLL Core Values. Teams compete by programming an autonomous robot to score points on a themed playing field (Robot Game), developing a solution to a problem they have identified (Project), all guided by the FLL Core Values.
