The SCHOOLHOUSE SONGWRITER SERIES is BACK with its autumn 2016 offering! It's the last show of the year for this popular quarterly music series sponsored by the Metuchen Arts Council and hosted by local singer-songwriter Sharon Goldman.

The Schoolhouse Songwriter Series is an intimate, candlelit, cafe-style evening in which Sharon invites three talented local, regional and nationally-touring singer-songwriters to join her in a Nashville-style round-robin format.

$10 at the door ($5 for kids under 12). Refreshments included, BYOB! Come early for the best cafe-style seats -- doors open at 7:30. Got questions? Email

Here's who's joining Sharon this time around:

RUPERT WATES -- acoustic, melodic art-folk with serious chops...Rupert, a UK native who tours constantly, plays over 170 years a year!

HEATHER PIERSON -- this New Hampshire-based songbird is a pianist, singer, songwriter, performer, bandleader, composer and adventurer. Don't miss her heartfelt, honest, soulful tunes!

MITCH KATZ -- This Connecticut-based performer offers a mix of ballads and blues, and can really rock the ukelele.

Your hostess, SHARON GOLDMAN , is a Metuchen, NJ-based singer-songwriter whose "intense, insightful, vivid" storytelling is a "clinic in how to paint an indelible picture with the simplest images and symbols" (Alan Young, NY Music Daily) Over several well-received albums, she has combined heartfelt portraits and memorable lyrics with unforgettable melodies and pure, precise, expressive vocals -- taking a folk/pop sensibility to new artistic heights.
